Abortion has always been a debatable issue in society nowadays as to whether it is a moral solution for unwanted pregnancy. Many people think it is ok to abort the child when the pregnancy comes unexpectedly, or simply for other reasons such as not being mature enough to have children, failing to support or care a child financially, or having a child may compromise their future lives etc. But regardless of these reasons, personally I consider abortion as very cruel and immoral no matter how good and reasonable the excuses might be.
Abortion is killing. What right do humans have to terminate an innocent life possibly resulting from their own stupidity in knowing little about contraception? Isn’t contradictious that society will not tolerate it if people go on street and stab each other to death and sadly they agree to restrain a child’s life forming in mothers’ wombs? Isn’t the same form of killing? If society supports legal punishments for street killing then I think they’d better adapt the same attitude for abortion. When women are pregnant, they have a living human inside; to kill a living human is murder. There is no other way of looking at it. How can anyone logically say, "you are not killing a human, just because that baby is not breathing in air yet?
Abortion is selfish. Clearly it has done a lot of damages to the unborn; they would never have the chance to live a life. Why would the innocent being punished for their parents’ mistakes? The loss is unimaginable; not only the loss of a life, but the life of a blameless soul that otherwise could have been filled with hopes, dreams, laughter, joy and love. A baby lost for nothing. There are thousands upon thousands of family's that would be more than happy to take those unfortunate babies in and give them the chance they deserve. The chance that God had gave the child. Why do these mothers think they can make a decision for these babies, just because they do not want to go through the process of pregnancy? Even if the mother doesn't have enough money to take care of the baby, there are many different government aids that will help these mothers along. For the worst reasons, if they really can’t afford a child at the time, they should really look into how to have a safe and responsible sex to prevent the unwanted result, and if something happens, like pregnancy, they should not then commit murder or "abortion" for further happiness, that is just evil.
Abortion is immoral. God puts a soul in embryos at conception, and a few weeks old fetus can be murdered like ordinary people. It's morally wrong or ambiguous because women are preventing the baby from becoming a conscious, unique person.
Abortion plays havoc with the psychology and the future life of the entire family. The woman who has lost her child, at any time between the pregnancies, will never be the same. (Coleman, 2009) While the woman may be the hardest hit by an abortion, one also has to think about the mental and emotional state of the entire family. While physically only the woman undergoes an abortion, mentally and emotionally it is the entire family who loses a part of their mind and body forever. And the emotional devastation is unimaginable.
Many women suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder related to abortions they have done. 20-40 even show a higher level of stress and avoidance in normal daily activities. In post-abortion trauma cases, many women have developed inabilities to recall the abortion experience or important parts of it; efforts to avoid activities or situations which may arouse recollections of the abortion; withdrawal from relationships, especially estrangement from those involved in the abortion decision; avoidance of children; efforts to avoid or deny thoughts or feelings about the abortion; restricted range of loving or tender feelings; a sense of a foreshortened future and suicidal attempts. Abortion is also significantly linked with increased abuse of alcohol, drug and in many cases, women have also developed with eating disorder. Furthermore, women who have one abortion are at increased risk of having additional abortions in the future.
Abortion affects women physically. Women who have abortion experiences more easily to develop breasts cancer, cervical cancer, placenta previa, complication in labour, having handicapped newborns in later life, ectopic pregnancy and other serious gynecological diseases.
In conclusion, abortion is a very immoral, cruel and selfish action to take, the effects after is extremely destructive from both psychological and physical areas.

ReplyDeleteGood Blog.I am agree that abortion is killing. I don't how people kill the unborn life. It is really sad.
Even I read lotz of news that the ladies gave the birth to babies and then dump them into rubbish, especially in poor countries.

A very good blog, I agree with your point of view.We stand on the same position, I also think that there is no difference between abortion and murder,The only difference is that you killed the baby that you never seen..that so cruel...I think everyone should be take the Responsibility Whether to themselves as well as the baby.So the best way to prevent pregnancy is not aborticide, but in advance to prevent pregnancy, such as contraceptives .
However,good work.!!!
Hey Carol, nice post. You make your point with true belief, you're definitely not sitting on the fence with this one.
ReplyDeleteOne thing that has always swayed me about abortion, despite whichever view you had on it, is that these embryo's have already been concieved, and thus the genetic makeup has already been determined. So, hypothetically, one of the great men or women of our generation or all other generations since abortion has been an option, may have been aborted. To me that is crazy! People may have their reasons for aborting their unborn, but what if you told them that if their embryo, (given the opportunity) was going to be the next Mother Theresa or Albert Einstein? Maybe that might change their mind..
I dunno. But good stuff Carol. Hin-hao! :)
hey david
ReplyDeletethank you for your comments, i agree with you, and am pretty sure that some of the unborn that have been aborted in the past might have become someone great, isnt funny if we think about it like this??may be life is funny like this too
hey Gurbinder
ReplyDeletethanks for your comments, i agree that abortion is bad, people should think before they do things, why do the innocent pay for their stupid mistakes???thats horrible
Hi Carol,
ReplyDeleteI think if a doctor suggests a patient to do abortion for medical reasons like abnormal pregnancies or any serious health problem, then it is okay. But if a person intentionally does this, I am not sure whether it is right. The mental and physical pressure before and after abortion can create further complications.
